Osaka castle

As Misterpiggy continued his walk along Sakuranomiya park, he could see the Osaka castle getting closer and closer.  Eventually he reached a bridge that led him towards a path on the perimeter of the castle.  From this vantage point, Misterpiggy had some nice views of the surrounding area.

Misterpiggy was happily surprised that there weren't a lot of tourists on a such a nice day at the castle. Perhaps, they were all in Kyoto.

An old samurai warrior made threatening gestures, no pigs allowed!

Apparently these kids were going to climb their way into the castle, rather than paying the 600 yen admission fee.

For dinner, Misterpiggy had a craving for ramen, so he found a shop on a street across the street from the hotel.  The top picture had pork and eggs in a miso soup, and the bottom one had shredded meat and vegetables in a soy sauce soup.  Misterpiggy found the soups both to be too salty and too thick for his liking.  His quest for an excellent bowl of ramen continues.

Osaka Photography links

Misterpiggy loves looking at other peoples pictures of Japan.  Here's a few photo links from a Canadian photographer who visited Japan in 2007 and fell in love with it.  Hey, that's the same year that Misterpiggy first went there.

Some outstanding pictures of Osaka here:

And he took some really nice pictures during cherry blossom season in 2011.  The Osaka castle grounds and the Sakuranomiya park are two of the first places Misterpiggy has on his schedule (besides Kyoto).
Only wish his picture taking skills can improve. sigh.
